A 2 mm plate of titanium and the sample.
I drill a hole and attach the sample so I can scribe the out line perfectly.
This was a real mission to pierce out. It chomps saw blades real quick, even though I was using blades for stainless steel and platinum.
I cleaned the surface and the sides up.
Now it is a matter of filing with needle files.
I drilled the hole for the center stone.
I use a ball frazer to remove excess material.
Then I made the tube and bail.
This picture was posed for my customer.
Working the cross some more.
This individual components before polishing and assembly. I turned the tube out of a 6 mm rod of titanium. It fits in the front and then it is set pavé from the back.
The bail is riveted in place.
The tube,( or bezel) is filed down and then set into the body of the cross into the four grooves that run down the center and sides.
Now it is time to set the tanzanite into the tube. Tricky work, that.
Finished.
