This was my first foray into the Steampunk art genre.
First thing I made is a brass frame out of some angle material I had lying around.
I also made the legs out of angle material.
Then I fitted some wood into the frame.
I built a brass box that would hold the clock mechanism and face.
The light fittings and some fluorescent lamps.
The wiring underneath.
Choosing the stained glass.
As with all choosing, an essential part is a rose wine the help with the 'artistic judgment'.
The rest is basic stained glass work, namely cutting, foiling and soldering.
I soldered in a top and as is typical with anyone who first starts with steam punk, I used copper and brass plumbing fittings.
I heat coloured the copper clock face.
I set some paste glass stones that I cut into silver tubes that I had soldered into the face.
I used gold foil to texture the bottom.
I made some funky clock hands out old brass stock.
