This is a Pells Fishing Owl claw cast in silver. This bird is highly protected. I was doing work for the Avian Demgraphic Unit of the University of Cape Town and we were monitoring a breeding female in Kasane in Norhtern Botswana. Then the local witch doctor caught and killed her for bush medicine and hocus pocus magic that the locals practice there.
I was seriously pissed off, so I saved the parts of her left and cast her feet into slver, so in a manner she still lives on.
